Transforming Notts Together currently offers two interactive workshops to equip people with the knowledge and tools to signpost effectively to appropriate services
Signposting
This is a 2 hour session letting you know what support is available to rough sleepers, and those in need of housing, in your locality. It includes referral mechnisms and plenty of time for questions.
Signpost Plus
This 2 hour session gives your group space to consider how to best empower those in need.
This includes looking at some local services in order to help you have the confidence to direct people to the right service at the right time.
Session Content
The workshops are interactive and encourage us to think, not just about the knowledge needed to signpost those in need, but also the appropriate listening skills and compassionate nature needed for this work.
As such, the workshops include sections on:
- Active listening techniques;
- 'The Web of Poverty';
- Life Trigger Events;
- Cycle of Change; and
- Common Misconceptions
