Equipping Churches

Are you exploring how you or your church could get involved in social action? Get in touch to chat about how we can support you with this. Also here is some useful information to get started...

TNT offers a number of workshops to support churches to engage with their local communities. We want to help bring transformation, but avoid duplication. It is not just about doing more but about working together to share skills and lived experience, in order to have a lasting and sustainable impact.

Let's Talk Money: Young People

Let's Talk Money: Young People is a free one hour workshop, aimed at equipping 16 to 20 year olds with money skills for life. It can be delivered online, or in person, and is suitable for youth groups, schools and colleges. We also have an adult version for Urdu speakers.

Getting Started

It can be hard to know how to start in your community. TNT offer a bespoke working called Getting Started in your Neighbourhood where we can help you walk through what is already available in your community, what the need is, and what your church or organisation can offer.

Alternately, a simple way to start, is via something like a coffee morning. In the video below, Paul Howard talks us through how we can start small but have a big impact in combatting the loneliness in our neighbourhoods.

Other workshops currently offered by 'Transforming Notts Together' include:

These workshops are all about starting small and starting well. We use practical tools to explore these questions and consider what you have the potential to do.

Workshop sessions are flexible to suit the local context and situation of the organisation or church and can be extended if needed. Covid Cash Recovery and the Grief and Loss Workshop have a rolling programme online via Zoom and the offers can be delivered online by request or in person in small groups.

Feedback from Getting Started workshops:

I found the whole morning really helpful. It was really interesting how, after discussion and working together we discovered so much about ourselves. This was really encouraging. I found the exercise about neighbours very challenging – i.e. how little time I spend in meaningful conversation with others. Hannah was brilliant - very encouraging and prayerful. Very good at drawing things out of us in a prayerful and gentle way. This morning was really helpful to help us to take stock of what the church St Peter and St Paul’s is and does, and will help us to prepare for the future. Thank you for sharing so much of your own experience with us, and for reminding us of our calling to spread the good news of Jesus as we engage in our social events.
